      <title>Rolls-Royce careers presentation</title>

	  <description><![CDATA[Rolls-Royce is a world-leading provider of power systems and services for use on land, at sea and in the air. Rolls Royce operates in 50 countries with five global markets - Civil Aerospace, Defence Aerospace, Marine, Energy and Civil Nuclear. 

Rolls-Royce is recruiting globally for high calibre graduates and interns across a range of different schemes, including Engineering.

	  <description><![CDATA[We are going to try something new for the solar car team... a social! I suggest Thursday evening starting in the Swan and Three Cygnets at 8ish, moving onwards from there. (Time, place and activites all subject to change when I actually discuss this with other people). Let me know what you think.       <title>An Introduction to Online Collaboration Platforms</title>

	  <description><![CDATA[Dear All,
I would like to invite everyone to the first DUES-hosted workshop of the term:
An Introduction to Online Collaboration Platforms.

The workshop will be held on 28th October from 1-2pm in E240. A buffet lunch will be provided.

The platforms covered are:
- Social Bookmarking (Delicious).
- Geographic Information Systems (Google Maps).
- Distributed Authoring (Google Docs).
- Two-way sync and publication of remote calendars (Google Calendar).
- Wiki Creation.

The aim of the workshop is to promote existing online collaboration platforms and schema in an attempt to demonstrate how they might be useful to engineers/technical people working in groups. Since it is a workshop, you are welcome to bring a laptop or handheld however you may prefer to attempt this in your own time after the workshop has taken place.

	  <description><![CDATA[For our fourth careers presentation of the term, Ramboll Whitbybird are giving a
talk in E240 on Thursday 1st of November at 18:30.

Ramboll Whitbybird is a leading European multidisciplinary engineering
consultancy which was recently formed by the merger of Ramboll, a large Nordic
consultancy, with Whitbybird, a medium sized Britain based consultancy.  This
has formed a company with 116 Nordic and UK offices, and a further 24 offices
in other European countries and the rest of the world. 

Some of their current projects include the new Liverpool FC stadium, the Okhta
Centre Tower in St Petersburg, and The Ferrari Experience in Abu Dhabi.  Recent
awards won by the company include being ranked 36th in the 2007 Sunday Times
list of 100 Best Companied to Work For, Sustainable Designer of the Year 2006,
and The Queens Award for Enterprise: Innovation 2006. 

Although primarily a Structural Engineering consultancy, they also have
departments in Civil Engineering, Geotechnics, Bridges, Facade Engineering,
Environmental Consultancy, Building Services (Mechanical and Electrical),
Sustainability, and Transport Planning. Ramboll offices outside the UK also do
have a large group in the Wind and Renewable Energy Sector.]]></description>
